Centenary Lookback Series No 12 - The Little Chapel
As part of the celebrations to mark the centenary of C A Duquemin Ltd, we are carrying out a monthly Facebook lookback over the last 100 years. We carried out the major repair and reconstruction of The Little Chapel from 2017 – 2022. Geoff Simon has spent the best part of five years, almost single-handedly, stabilizing, improving and restoring the Little Chapel to its former glory.
Geoff has been an outstanding craftsman for C A Duquemin Ltd for over 50 years. His standard of workmanship is unrivalled in Guernsey and his intricate plaster moulding work can be seen on such public buildings as St James, St Barnabas, the historic Royal Court building, The Guille Alles and Priaulx Libraries, most of the Island’s parish churches as well as countless heritage buildings throughout the Island.
Below are some of the photos from The Little Chapel works including a drawing showing how out of plumb the spire had become.
